I genuinely love easy things . . .  Time and time again, i'm reminded that it is the easy things in life which genuinely are the fine . . .  Matters like the sound of rain falling on the roof while i'm laying all toasty warm in my mattress, or the odor of roses, or the sound of the sunrise chorus once I wake up within the morning.  All simple things, and all things which cash can not buy and that we, extra regularly than no longer, take with no consideration.

Its the same with food  . . .  It's far frequently the simple matters we eat which deliver us the most pride.  Things just like the crisp and sticky pores and skin of a superbly roasted fowl, tasting of salt and pepper and, nicely . . .  Bird. Properly baked potatoes with crispy skins and fluffy insides, broken open and crowned with a pat of butter together with a few salt and pepper . . .





A crisp grilled cheese sandwich, golden brown and cut into palms, dipped into warm tomato soup on a rainy day . . . The smell of beans baking within the oven, or . . .  And this is the excellent of all, the scent of a freshly baked loaf of bread, and then a slice of it nonetheless warm, with cold butter melting into it . . .


See???  Easy things . . .




Slices of sweet and  wealthy brioche bread, soaked in a mixture of cream, eggs and sugar, after which gilded until golden brown in a buttery warm pan  . . .




Ddshed up and served warm on china plates  . . .  Topped with  dollops of  ice cold clotted cream  . . . Wealthy cornish clotted cream  . . . Scattered with sparkling berries and dusted with icing sugar . . .




The warmth of that golden eggy brioche melting that bloodless clotted cream until it runs in milky buttery rivulets  . . . Deliciously down over those golden buttery crisp edges of bread . . .




Pooling into delicious little puddles . . . Wealthy and creamy  . . . So suitable with the sweet/tartness of these cold fresh berries . . .




Oh yes, it's miles clearly the easy matters in lifestyles which bring us the maximum pleasure, particularly whilst you are sharing them with the people you love.  You sincerely cannot beat them . . . You truely can not . . .

You make a decision.  You are positive to like it either way and so is your circle of relatives.150ml double cream (5 ounces heavy cream)2 large loose range eggs, plus 1 massive loose variety egg yolk2 tbs caster sugar (quality granulated sugar)8 medium slices of brioche bread55g unsalted butter, divided (1/4 cup)icing sugar to dust175g fresh raspberries (1/3 pound)clotted cream to serve





Whisk together the eggs, cream and sugar.  Reduce the brioche slices in half diagonally.  Dip the primary two slices into the egg combination and leave to sit down for some
